Marta Tiana is an independent journalist based in Berlin.

Born in Barcelona and raised in Mexico City, she develops as a correspondant in Germany for catalan media outlet exterior.cat and is a member of Col·legi de Periodistes de Catalunya since 2025.

Writer, reporter, chronicler, documentalist, researcher, and filmmaker, Marta’s work turns around creative non-fiction, specializing in social movements and international affairs.

She holds a degree in Journalism and Corporate Communications from FCRI Blanquerna in Spain, completed studies in Cultural Sociology and Anthropology at KU Leuven in Belgium, and earned a Master’s in Creative Film Production in Berlin.

She has been writing for as long as she can remember; the rest of the formats came later.

Her professional path began at Ràdio Ciutat de Badalona and (former) Orgull Radio, working on local but socially relevant catalan & LGBTQA+ topics. She later jumped into audiovisual storytelling as a television reporter in México for adn40 (TV Azteca), covering breaking, hard news and infotainment.
